Alloy Wheel Repair & Rim Refinishing
Rim refinishing is the job between a curb-rash touch-up and a new set of wheels: a wheel that's faded, scuffed across several spokes, pitted by salt air, peeling at the clear coat, or simply no longer matching the other three. We strip the face back, repair what's underneath, and refinish the whole wheel to the factory color and texture — painted, machined, powder coated, or chrome-look. Restoration, refurbishment, refinishing: same job, and it's done on your driveway with most single wheels back on the car the same day.

Alloy Wheel Repair & Rim Refinishing — FAQs
What's the difference between rim refinishing and curb rash repair?+
Curb rash repair fixes one damaged area of the lip and blends it in. Refinishing does the whole face — the right call when the damage is spread across several spokes, the finish has faded or peeled, or a replacement wheel doesn't match the others.
Is wheel restoration the same as refinishing or refurbishment?+
Yes — restoration, refurbishment, and refinishing all describe the same work here: stripping the wheel back, repairing the metal, and putting a new factory-quality finish on it. Different shops use different words for it.
Can you refinish just one wheel to match the other three?+
Yes, and it's the most common refinishing job we do. Color, texture, and gloss level are matched against the wheels still on the car, which is exactly why doing it at your driveway beats doing it in a shop.
Why is the clear coat peeling off my rims?+
Moisture and salt air work under the factory clear coat wherever it's chipped or scuffed, lifting it from the edges. Near the coast it can start within a few years. We strip the failed finish, repair the pitting underneath, and reseal — powder coat if the car lives near the water.
Can peeling or pitted chrome wheels be refinished?+
Yes. The failing chrome is stripped to bare alloy, the pitting is repaired, and the wheel is refinished — a chrome-look powder coat if you want the bright finish back, or gloss black and other colors if you'd rather delete the chrome. We don't re-plate; plating fails again in this salt air.
Is refinishing cheaper than replacing an alloy wheel?+
Almost always by a wide margin, especially on OEM and luxury wheels. Refinishing keeps your matched factory set and is done on-site in a day.
